Dan Pluess: Engineering, Safety and technical expertise services with NWA.

We are delighted to welcome Dan Pluess to NW Advisory Services as our newest consultant.


With over 25 years of hands-on experience in aircraft maintenance engineering, aviation safety, and technical instruction, Dan brings a deep well of knowledge and a practical, safety-first mindset to our team.


Dan’s aviation journey is both broad and deep having worked extensively with Qantas, Boeing Defence Australia, and most recently Avcr.  He has built a reputation for professionalism, reliability, and exceptional technical skill. His current work training apprentice aircraft engineers at Flight One Pty Ltd in Adelaide highlights his dedication to mentoring the next generation of aviation professionals.

Areas of Expertise:

  • Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (LAME) with B1.1 certification, and CASA type ratings across B737 Classic/NG, A320, B787, B767, and Cessna Citation 500/550

  • Former Safety Manager for Boeing Defence Australia’s P-8A Program and Technical Writer on propulsion systems for the RAAF

  • Trained Lead Safety Auditor, passionate about applying Human Factors and continuous improvement in aviation maintenance


Dan’s approach to aviation is anchored in safety, precision, and effective communication, values that align perfectly with our mission at NW Advisory Services. His membership in the Antique Aircraft Association and personal ownership of a restored DH-82A Tiger Moth reflect his lifelong passion for aviation, both modern and vintage.
