Dr Louise Raggett: Human Factors Specialist with NWA.

At NW Advisory Services, we are committed to building safer, smarter, and more resilient organisations across high-risk sectors. That’s why we are proud to announce the appointment of Dr. Louise Raggett as our Human Factors Specialist and Organisational Psychology expert, a key addition that deepens our capability in human performance, operational safety, and organisational culture. With more than 20 years of experience in human performance and safety management, Dr. Raggett brings a rare depth of knowledge shaped by hands-on work and academic excellence in industries where safety is mission critical such as aviation, rail, and healthcare.

A Proven Leader in Human Factors

Dr. Raggett holds a PhD in Human Performance in Aviation, a field that sits at the intersection of psychology, engineering, and operational risk. Her doctoral work and subsequent career have focused on understanding how people interact with complex systems and how those systems can be designed to support safe, efficient, and effective human performance.

Throughout her career, Louise has worked with frontline operators, safety managers, executive leadership, and regulators to build and embed human-centred safety practices into the fabric of organisational operations. Her approach is grounded in science but tailored for real-world complexity—making her contributions both evidence-based and practical.

 Key Areas of Expertise

Dr. Raggett’s expertise spans a broad spectrum of safety-critical human factors, including:

✔️ Fatigue Risk Management & Safety Culture | Helping organisations assess, manage, and mitigate fatigue-related risks through system-wide strategies that prioritise well-being and performance.

✔️ Human Performance & Safety Improvements | Enhancing safety outcomes by addressing cognitive, behavioural, and organisational factors that influence how people perform under pressure.

✔️ Human-Centered Design & Leadership Development | Supporting the design of systems, tools, and environments that align with human capabilities and training leaders to drive safety-focused cultural change.

Her work helps bridge the gap between compliance-driven safety measures and the cultural and behavioural shifts that truly sustain safe practices in high-consequence environments.

Advancing Safety Through Strategy

At NW Advisory Services, Louise will play a central role in supporting clients with strategic insights and practical solutions that improve safety culture, reduce human error, and strengthen operational performance. Whether it’s conducting human reliability assessments, designing safety improvement programs, or mentoring leadership teams on behavioural risk, Louise brings a systemic view that is critical for long-term safety transformation.

Why Human Factors Matter

As industries evolve and systems become more complex, the role of human factors has never been more important. From frontline fatigue to executive decision-making, understanding human behaviour is key to managing risk, improving outcomes, and building resilient organisations.

Dr. Raggett’s appointment reflects our belief that safety is not just about rules and regulations it’s about people. By putting human performance at the centre of our approach, we help our clients develop systems and cultures where safety thrives naturally, not just procedurally.
