Craig’s leadership journey is grounded in senior executive roles across both industry and government. As a former Commonwealth Senior Executive Service (SES Band 2) officer, Craig provided high-level divisional oversight of national aviation safety and regulatory programs. His time at the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) included key roles such as:

Craig’s expertise in cross-functional team leadership and operational safety decision-making has made him a trusted authority for aviation risk governance, policy interpretation, and stakeholder engagement across Australasia’s regulatory landscape.

A Flight Career Spanning Cockpits, Compliance and Executive Leadership

Before entering regulatory leadership, Craig built an exceptional flying career as a Senior International Airline Captain with Qantas International Airways, Emirates Airline, Garuda Indonesia and Virgin Australia International.

He holds an ATPL with multiple wide-body type ratings and over 14,500 hours of flight time and ATPL Aircraft Type Ratings, underscoring both his technical mastery and instructional capability:
